Wrap up in warm clothing and bring a brolly

An outdoor cinema constructed in the Cell Project Space Yard presents a heightened and appropriated setting for this unique film programme, includes Marcus Coates ‘Finfolk’, 2003 and Richard T. Walker’s ‘What am weyoui waiting for?’,2008.

Coates’ early attempt to connect or even become an animal emerges out of the freezing North Sea in ill-fitting Adidas sportswear and clip-on shades. He becomes a seal as if it were human.

Walker and acclaimed singer/songwriter Will Oldham sing to the landscape in a lament devoted to intense sublime experiences promised by 18th century writers such as Emmanuelle Kant and Edmund Burke but yet to be delivered.

The accompanying publication, ‘Trying To Cope With Things That Aren’t Human’ will be on sale on offer price of £7.00. Normal retail cost £10.00. The exhibition will be open during the screening.
