Susanna Davies-Crook & Joris Luyendijk in conversation
Money Never Sleeps
4pm - 6pm
Cell Project Space invites Susanna Davies-Crook and Joris Luyendijk to provide additional context to Florian Auer’s exhibition BABIES ARE BORN AT NIGHT and to elaborate on the artist’s fascination for the abstract world of investment banking. The event aims to extend the interpretation of Auer’s approach to corporate sub-culture and discuss, in a broader sense, its relationship to current contemporary art practice.
Susanna Davies-Crook is a practicing artist and writer based in London and Berlin. She is a contributing Visual Arts Editor for Dazed and Confused, Sleek, and contributes to Twin Magazine. As a freelance writer she has made contributions to friezeonline and thisistomorrow.info. Currently studying at the Royal College of Art, Davies Crook will graduate in MA Fine Art next year.
Joris Luyendijk is a writer and journalist from The Netherlands and based in London. A former Middle East correspondent, he has authored two publications, focusing on the region. Luyendijk writes the experimental Banking Blog for The guardian, which looks at the world of finance from an anthropological perspective.
In true fashion of the 1980’s trading floors, dirty martinis will be served to mark this event.
