Taking her cue from ideas of communal bakeries and the legacy of Sourdough starters handed-down through generations of families and amongst communities, Hannah Lees has produced a Sourdough Starter at Cell Projects to be used to bake loaves of Sourdough Einkorn bread to be baked and distributed onsite at Cell. Seeking to engage with ideas of self-generation, fermentation, creation and ritual. Taking part in the ritual act of "breaking bread", visitors are encouraged to take-away bread and bits of the Sourdough Starter to continue the legacy.
